Induruwa is a quiet coastal village in the Galle District, five kilometres south of Bentota and around ninety minutes from Colombo. It is calm enough to actually get work done, but close enough to everything: the beach is 300 metres away, Bentota's shops and restaurants are a short tuk-tuk ride, and Galle Fort is under an hour.
Our guests consistently mention the reliable WiFi, the quiet, and the pool with its estuary view. For anyone working remotely, wintering away from the cold, or simply travelling slowly, it is an easy place to settle into.
Sri Lanka has become noticeably easier to settle into for a season. Alongside the standard tourist visa, a longer 180-day tourist visa option was introduced in 2026, and the Department of Immigration and Emigration now issues a Digital Nomad Visa (officially the Remote Work Visa) for people employed or freelancing for companies outside Sri Lanka.
It allows a 12-month stay, renewable, lets you open a local bank account and enter rental agreements, and foreign-earned income is generally not taxed locally for non-residents. You cannot take local employment on it.
Yes. Villa Estuary offers furnished monthly and long term rentals in Induruwa, near Bentota on Sri Lanka's south coast. Rates start from $25 per night for a Deluxe Room, $30 per night for a Garden or Estuary Suite and $50 per night for the whole house, based on stays of 28 nights or more.
Long stay rates include a fully furnished room or suite, air conditioning, free high speed WiFi, weekly housekeeping and linen change, use of the outdoor swimming pool and tropical garden, and free private parking. Breakfast is not included in long stay rates, which keeps the price lower, and suites have a kitchenette with a fridge and kettle for self catering.
The long stay rate applies to bookings of 28 nights or more. Longer bookings of three months or more can be discussed directly. Long stay rates are available from April to November and are booked directly with us rather than through booking platforms.
Yes. Guests regularly comment on our reliable high speed WiFi, and the property is quiet, which suits remote work. Each suite has a private veranda, there is a shared pool and garden, and the beach is 300 metres away. Induruwa is a calm village near Bentota with shops, restaurants and transport within easy reach.
Most visitors arrive on a tourist visa, and Sri Lanka introduced a longer 180 day tourist visa option in 2026. For remote workers there is now a Digital Nomad Visa, also called the Remote Work Visa, issued by the Department of Immigration and Emigration, which allows you to live in Sri Lanka for 12 months and be renewed, with foreign earned income not taxed locally for non residents. Requirements, income thresholds and fees change, so please check the official Sri Lanka Department of Immigration and Emigration website for current rules before booking a long stay.
Yes. Electricity, water, air conditioning and WiFi are all included in the long stay rate for normal use. We simply ask guests to switch off the air conditioning when they go out.
